I know what i WOULDN’T be traumatized by. I WOULDN’T be traumatized by a full nude version of this song! What a nice element that would be to throw into the equation!
This song is definitely haunting. I’m really surpried that i had never heard the name Bobbie Gentry until a year ago (i’m 27). Even then i found it by Wikipedia’ing the ‘Reba McIntyre’ song “Fancy”. I’m glad i did. She’s a great talent!
This song really leaves you trying to piece it all together. Did the guy kill himself? Did she push him ?(doesn’t fit but is suggested..) What relation did this person have the family that they all know him, but are nearly indifferent to his death (…pass the biscuits please).
Most importantly: “why can’t i get it out of my head?!” Because it rules, that’s why.
